MPN Competency: Business Intelligence for Data Analytics_ja-JP MPN14372 (April 2017)
This module discusses tools to help you provide useful, flexible summarized views of that data, or even basic reporting, over large volumes of data. SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) is an online analytical data engine used in decision support and business analytics. It provides analytical data for business reports and client applications such as Reporting Services reports, Power BI, Excel, and other third-party data visualization tools. SSAS supports two modelling modes—multidimensional and tabular. This course provides an high-level overview of SQL Server 2016 Analysis Services and then delivers details on new SSAS features, deprecated and discontinued features. It then describes upgrading to SSAS 2016 and finally describes supported SSAS features by edition. Reporting Services (SSRS) delivers enterprise, web-enabled reporting functionality. Implemented as a Report Server, in one of two modes—Native and SharePoint—it can scale to support thousands of users. SSRS 2016 is extended with a new capability to deliver mobile reports, and is enhanced with a new modern web portal. This course provides a high-level overview of Reporting Services and then delivers details on new SSRS features, deprecated and discontinued features. It then describes upgrading to SSRS 2016 and finally describes supported SSRS features by edition.
This module discusses tools that help you achieve a single version of the truth, or a single point of reference as it relates to the metadata and standards for the critical data of your organization. SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is a platform for building enterprise-level data integration and data transformation solutions. It is primarily designed to implement ETL processes, and its capabilities are useful in many other scenarios such as assessing data quality, cleansing and standardizing data, merging data from heterogeneous data stores, implementing ad hoc data transfers, automating administrative tasks, and orchestrating Azure data processes. This course provides a high-level overview of SQL Server 2016 Integration Services (SSIS) and then delivers details on new, deprecated and discontinued SSIS features. It then describes upgrading to SSIS 2016 and finally describes supported SSAS features by edition. Master Data Services (MDS) is the SQL Server solution for master data management. In business, master data management (MDM) comprises the processes, governance, policies, standards and tools that consistently define and manage the critical data of an organization to provide a single point of reference. Master Data Management (MDM) enables an organization to discover and define non-transactional lists of data, and to compile maintainable, reliable master lists. MDS was first released with SQL Server 2008 R2. This course provides a high-level overview of Master Data Services (MDS) and then delivers details on new, deprecated and discontinued MDS features. It then describes upgrading to MDS 2016 and finally describes supported SSRS features by edition.
